Palmer’s musical career started after college at Wesleyan University. Her first creative love was theater, and she joined a collective called Shadowbox, often working as a “living statue” on street corners, as well as working in productions of street theater. In 2000, she teamed up with drummer Brian Vigilone to form the Dresden Dolls, her first musical project.
